ManTis emerged from an issue that arose during my own work. Due to my engagement in various places at different times, good lighting often became a problem.
Faced with this challenge, I chose to find a solution myself and developed ManTis.
Concept

Due to various influences, lighting can quickly become inconsistent or even inadequate. Hence, my goal was to develop a versatile lamp that addresses these challenges.
Form Creation

The lamp was intended to be usable not only at home but also on the go. Therefore, I opted to create a collapsible lamp that can be easily packed. Additionally, the legs of the lamp can be adjusted individually, allowing it to stand stably even on uneven surfaces.
Design

Interestingly, due to its long legs and slender body, the lamp bears a resemblance to a praying mantis, which is how its name originated. The arrangement and joints of the legs allow for the lamp to be collapsed in a space-saving manner.
In the final design, to achieve a better shape when folded and enhanced stability when unfolded, I shortened the lamp by adding a strut to the lamp arm. This optimization of functionality and design further refined the lamp's overall form.
Funktionen

The arrangement and maneuverability of the lamp allow for personalized illumination of the desired area. Touch-sensitive areas on both legs enable easy adjustment of the light intensity and color temperature.
These features provide a user-friendly way to tailor the light to individual preferences and needs. This versatility allows the lamp to be used flexibly and comfortably in various environments and situations.
